The topic for discussion on Tuesday Sept 22

was about relationships where one person has a lot more money than the other – was it possible to cope with this imbalance? Our responses: “people have trouble receiving stuff, never has been a problem for me as most girlfriends take the key card and I just ask how much money is left, got to have a level of equality, try to go half and half, it is very, very difficult because the person with more money either has to shout the partner all the time or go without the lovely meals/holidays herself, it’s a huge issue in any relationship, one way to mitigate the situation is to each pay a percentage of your salary on things like rent etc, it can be controlling if someone is paying more, it’s good to have equal payments with your partner, money equals power, it’s nice to buy things for someone without making them feel small”. And the comment de jour from last night, “compromise is the seed of resentment”. Discuss. The lovely Maja may or may not be facilitating next week. Depending on whether she can chip herself out of the iceberg down Clovelly way. We hope she can make it.
